Jeremy McKinzie Fundraiser

We are doing a fundraiser for Jeremy McKinzie who has been diagnosed with Pulmonary Embolism and is going to San Diego for special treatment and surgery. We are hosting a special fund raising event this weekend (Sept. 19-21) for him. 10% of all sales proceeds at the Fleet feet Sports store will go towards assisting in helping fund his medical treatment and trip. He is the step-brother of one of our associates, Matt Winterrowd. His story is below.

Three years ago, Jeremy was diagnosed with a Pulmonary Embolism, which are blood clots in his lungs. Since then he has been on oxygen. Last October, he was in the hospital for a month and we almost lost him. We had been told that there was no way that the old clots in the lower lobes of his lungs could be removes because of their location. They were in very small vessels which made it impossible. With a lot of help from God's direction, his doctor was at a conference while he was lying in the hospital and discovered a doctor that has actually been doing a surgery that will allow them to remove the blood clots. The catch is that the doctor is in San Diego, and he is the one that developed this procedure. On September 20, Jeremy and his mother will be flying to San Diego and will be living there for a month at least. As you can imagine this is a very stressful time for the family trying to make arrangements for a month and being able to afford whatever may arise while in California.

This surgery is one that will change Jeremy’s life, get him off the oxygen, and allow him to go back to being a great Chef.
