When the weather outside is frightful, let Fleet Feet Sports help keep you active and motivated this winter.
The Winter Warrior Program is for everyone, all ages and all ability levels—walkers and runners, beginners and seasoned veterans, recreational exercisers, and fitness fanatics—we don't care.
The Winter Warrior Program starts with a kick-off party on Tuesday, December 12th at 6:30 p.m. and concludes with a winter warrior 5K fun run on Saturday February 3rd at 8 a.m. There will be a Winter Warrior Ceremony after the winter warrior 5K fun run at Fleet Feet Sports Fort Wayne at 9:30 a.m. to crown the Winter Warrior Champion with a trophy!
WHAT DOES THE WINTER WARRIOR PROGRAM INCLUDE?
All of this for the cost of $80 per aspiring Winter Warrior!
The Winter Warrior Program is based on the amount of points accrued by participating in workouts.
At the conclusion of the program, the person with the most points will be deemed THE WINTER WARRIOR! You’ll have the honor and privilege of having your name on the Winter Warrior Cup. You will also receive a special Fleet Feet Sports prize.
WHAT ARE THE TIMES OF THE WINTER WARRIOR PROGRAM?
o Tuesdays at 6:30 P.M. – Fun Run or Mystery Workout. You never really know what type of fun thing we planned for you (yoga for runners, CrossFit, cross country skiing, holiday light display run/walk, etc.).
o Thursdays at 6:30 P.M. – Mystery Run/Walk or Mystery Workout. This is typically a 3 mile run/walk where you will be put into teams or compete individually to complete a mystery challenge.
o Saturdays at 8 A.M. – Run/Walk or Mystery Workout. Saturdays are normally the days where we go for a run with friends, typical distance is 3 to 6 miles (this can be increased or shortened to suit preferences). You can run or walk the distance at your own pace, we'll be waiting with refreshments whenever you finish! Saturdays are normally days we choose to have offsite outings, so there could be a mystery workout or two on this day, or a trail run at Fox Island. Be prepared to be on the move on a Saturday.
The Winter Warrior program schedule will be sent to your email and posted in the Facebook group at the beginning of each week. We will tell you where we are meeting, what time to be there, and how to dress. We will not tell you what we are doing. This keeps "mystery workouts" a mystery and helps participants discover new fitness activities they love, and hate.
The winner of the Winter Warrior Program will receive a Fleet Feet Sports Prize Award and will get their name on The Winter Warrior Cup!
